I Corps is an operational-level organization in the ROD Army that can command a multitude of units including several divisions and many brigades. The corps can provide command and control of joint and combined forces in any theater of operations.
I Corps is the ROD's reserve corps, and it is organized to command both light infantry and armored units. The corps headquarters and the corps artillery are the only active duty units in I Corps.

I Corps Headquarters consists of three elements:
I Corps HHC
Provides command, control, staff planning, an supervision for all assigned and attached units, 24 hours per day.
I Corps Rear Operations Center
Plans, coordinates and directs the execution of rear
security, terrain management, movement control, and area damage control in support of corps operations.
I Corps Rear Area Operations Center
Executes rear operations functions within areas of
responsibility assigned by the Corps Rear CP.
